A Chorus Line, the award winning musical about Broadway dancers auditioning for spots on a chorus line is coming to the Fox Theatre!

The musical features an impressive ensemble of artists who bring to the life the story of seventeen Broadway dancers auditioning for spots on a chorus line. Set on a Broadway theatre stage, it takes a look into the personalities of the performers and describes the events and decisions that led them to become dancers. Its music is composed by Marvin Hamlisch; renowned conductor and composer and one of only 2 people to have won a Pulitzer Prize, an Emmy Award, a Grammy Award, an Oscar, and a Tony award. Its lyrics are written by Tony Award and Pultizer Prize winning composer and lyricist, Edward Kleban. Its book is written by Tony Award winning playwright, author and actor James Kirkwood Jr. along with dancer and writer Nicholas Dante. The musical’s first production premiered Off Broadway at The Public Theater in April 1975 and sold out its entire run almost immediately. It opened on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre in July that year and ran for 6,137 performances. The Broadway production received many accolades including 9 Tony Awards, 7 Drama Desk Awards, a Pulitzer Prize for Drama, a Theatre World Award, and a special Tony Award for longest running Broadway musical.
