Jerry Seinfeld, New York’s sensational and multi talented comedian is bringing his indelible comedy to the Fox Theatre!
Jerome Allen "Jerry" Seinfeld was born in Brooklyn in 1954 and is a comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. He grew up in Massapequa and went on to study communications and theater at the Queens College (City University of New York). While studying there, he developed an interest in stand up comedy and the very night he graduated, he made his debut at an open mic night at Catch a Rising Star (a chain of comedy clubs, founded in New York City). His early stand up comedy years were full of struggle and he often performed for free while working a variety of odd day jobs (including selling light bulbs over the phone and hawking fake jewelry on the streets. He had a breakthrough in 1981 when he made his debut appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Carson and the audience loved him and it led to the many further appearances on the show (and others, including Late Night with David Letterman). He (along with comedian, writer, actor, playwright, and television producer Larry David) created Seinfeld in 1988 and 4 years later it had become the most popular and successful American TV sitcom.
